The Camp:
The Camp has toilets, 220vac power, cock, guide and a satellite phone. The camp is located on a hill close to the river.
All rooms have to beds and it’s possible to take a shower after the days fishing.
The River:
The Kangia River is clear and cold. It contains tens of thousands of large, aggressive arctic char. The char caught on the Kangia River generally ran from 2 to 6 pounds, although there were occasional fish of over ten pounds. The fish come readily to both wet and dry flies, such as the Silver Doctor or Polar Shrimp. The best method was to cast unweighted flies one-quarter downstream and strip them back across the river within or on the surface film. The char come leaping after the skidded flies and strike them with tremendous power. You will need at least a 3X tippet to avoid break-offs. Flies in sizes 12 up to 6 were best. A reasonably diligent fly fisherman with average skills can catch and release over 100 trout per day ranging from 2 pounds to ten pounds. That is not an exaggeration.
